ABOUT HYPERION BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Hendrik Smuts founded Hyperion Business Solutions (HBS) in 2007. Initially the company was named “Kariega International Consulting” (KIC) as a reference to Hendrik’s roots in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The Kariega River is a nurturing artery sustaining a pristine stretch of nature to the east of Port Elizabeth.

In April 2003, after completing his articles, Hendrik took up a position as finance manager in the South African subsidiary of a multinational logistics company. By February 2004 he joined the group’s head office in Antwerp, Belgium as finance controller. For the next 3,5 years Hendrik was based out of Europe, controlling the group’s interests in Europe, Far East, South East Asia and Australasia. He was also responsible for corporate treasury and the financial consolidation.

Towards the end of 2007 he returned to South Africa, incorporated KIC and continued to focus his services on the international logistics market. His regional focus shifted to North America, Latin America and Africa during this period. From 2010 to 2011 he relocated to Miami, USA to assume full financial control of the Latin American subsidiaries of a client. In 2012 Hendrik returned to South Africa once again and added Europe to his portfolio of services in KIC.

Over a period of time, he noticed the tremendous need for a truly comprehensive business solution package, especially among Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and in bigger organizations on a project basis.

And so, in 2015, KIC was rebranded as Hyperion Business Solutions (HBS) to provide a “one-stop-shop” for clients seeking support in any area of business management, be it finance, marketing or IT. This was the first step towards offering a full scope business solution package through Hyperion Unlimited’s Network of Associated Companies. With HBS’s multinational experience and specialist associates around the world, the company continues to extend its reach across the globe. Its multinational experience and global reach is invaluable for Hyperion’s clients that are active in global markets or are exploring the possibility of entering global markets.
